‘Sibayo’ is a school, cafe and workshop. While in Kyoto we didn’t get the chance to stop in long enough for a bite but the food looked beautiful and the interiors were very cosy.
Here is some info I came across online :
There is a great attention to detail in preparing and serving food, and in the cafe it was right down to the handcrafted doily decorating the tea cup, no two items were the same. Someone explained the aesthetic as Wabi-sabi, the ‘underplayed and modest, the kind of quiet, undeclared beauty that waits patiently to be discovered.’
You can find this everywhere at Sibayo, even in the food.
visit cafe.sibayo.com for a menu, schedule, map and their online shop of handmade goods!
